This morning I found myself at home - by myself! How often does that happen! The guys had headed off to the golf course since we actually had some sun and temps around 48.
I decided to treat myself to visiting some of my favorite shops. My first stop was Liberty Primitives at the West Shore Farmers Market. It is a great little shop with lots of country primitives and reminds me of the shop I owned for 12 years. They had all their stock 40% off - except furniture - and I treated myself to a feather-style tree and some redware ornaments.
Next I headed off to a shop that was new to me but one I've passed a million times. Today they had a sign outside saying 'knitting classes' and this intrigued me enough to stop. The shop is called Freehand Gallery and is a tiny shop filled with loca
lly made goodies - everything from jewelry to pottery to knitted items - and so much more. The owner - Paula - loves old textiles and had tons of items made from vinatage fabric and felted sweaters. I bought a beautiful bracelet.
My next stop was One Good Woman - a shop know for its coffee and tea. I am not a coffee drinker but love my tea! I bought myself a travel mug and some green tea with mango and papaya. I can't wait to try it.
All three of these shops are owned by women - how I love to see this - being a shop owner at one time. I closed my shop 6 1/2 hears ago from burnout - it was so much work. Today was one of those days that makes me miss owning a shop! Maybe one day when we finish putting our son through college I'll go back to having a business again.
