I have been off sick for the past 2 days. I'm not sure what's up...could be I just needed a break from work. I've done nothing but sleep. Today I feel much better but have slept a good portion of the day again. I guess I must have needed it because I am not one to sleep during the day.
Yester I received some more books from Amazon. I think I probably have been their best customer this month. I bought Stitch N Bitch Nation, The Time Travelor's Wife- which is for my book club in Feb, Knit 2 Together, Barack Obama's book, and many more. Last night I started "Friday Night Knitting Club"
I really like this book so far. This is being made into a movie by Julia Roberts who will star in it as well as produce - plus she is s knitter. At first I thought it sounded an awful lot like Debbie Machamer's book "A Good Yarn" but the characterizations are much deeper.
Saturday I did some shopping with my friends Debbie and Steve. I work with both of them. Deb and I have been friends for a while. Steve has worked with us for the past year and is so much fun. He's very young - well 26 but that seems young to us - and a breath of fresh air in our department. He lives an alternative lifestyle which his parents do not agree with. I think this is very sad. They should be proud that he is a wonderful, kind and smart young man who is working steadily and supports himself. I understand that everyone has the right to their own beliefs but I really feel they could have a better relationship with him. Anyway...we all had so much fun going to this garden center that is also a gift shop/bakery.
Then Deb and I did some clothes shopping at Elisabeth. We found out that Liz Claiborne is closing all of their plus size stores. This is so sad as they have professionnal clothes for the fuller sized woman. I have trouble finding clothes for work.
Well...back to the couch, some reading and maybe a little knitting. I started a tiny sweater - my first - for a gift.
