The weekend here was long and not much fun. Hubby and I had planned a long weekend away to visit his brother in Ohio and attend the Memorial Golf Tournament. As the time to plan our trip got closer I realized that I had too many deadlines at work to be able to take Fri and Mon off. So off he went without me - bummer!
And while he was gone I used the time to try to make some headway at work - I am so far behind and I hate feeling that way. I worked about 6 hours both Saturday and Sunday. My only bit of fun was meeting girlfriends for coffee on Saturday morning.
The weather here was perfect - high 70s, no humidity, gorgeous. I was only able to enjoy a bit of it each evening. I sat on the deck with some iced tea and knitting on Sunday after work with my dog on my lap. All of a sudden he jumped off - which for him is quite a leap from the tall deck chairs - and off he took to the back shade garden. I thought he was chasing squirrels but next thing I know a huge groundhog came running out and slipped under the fence gate. My dog is tiny - about 11 lbs - and this groundhog was at least 3 times his size. Luckily the dog didn't follow him under the gate! Groundhogs are nasty and do so much damage in our neighborhood.
