After weeks of neglecting my home, I spent Sunday doing some catch up - cleaning - a novel idea - as well as decorating and cooking.
Luckily I have a hubby who helps out. I still am moving slow and am limited in what I can lift. Hubby and I tag teamed - I dusted and swiffered - he vacuumed and wiped down woodwork. He dragged laundry downstairs and started the wash - I folded and put away. We make a good team.
I dragged out the bin with fall decorations and did some decorating and set the table for fall. I love to keep the table set - it keeps it clutter free.
Because I work long hours I tend to cook on Sundays and reheat during the week. This ensures that we eat healthier meals instead of grabbing junk when we come home later and don't feel like cooking. I made a batch of butternut squash soup using this recipe. It was very easy and so good. I added a chopped apple for a bit of sweetness.
I also made a pot of chicken veggie soup as well as a casserole of baked ziti for my hubby - no pasta for me.
Add some salads to the mix and this gives us a week of meals - luckily we don't mind leftovers - as well as some freezer meals. Makes coming home from work much easier to just have to reheat a meal.
