I have always said that knitting is my therapy. I pick up my needles and feel my stress melt away as I get into the rhythm of my project. And while I have not had as much time to knit lately I try to find at least 30 minutes to knit before bed.
Last night I decided to come home from work and not do any additional work...I am tired...so tired. So I made a real dinner - linguine with clam sauce made with clams, clam juice, white wine and some fresh tomatoes. It was so good!
Then I knit for 2 whole hours - it was heaven! I was able to finish my latest shawl -#8 of 10 in 2010. I knit Forest Canopy Shawl - an older pattern - but a delight to knit. The pattern is very intuitive and easy to see right away if you made a mistake - not rows later. I used a new to me yarn - bought on vacation. It was a skein of Madeline Tosh Sock - bought at Kaleidoscope Yarns in Essex Junction, VT - in the colorway TART. It is a lovely variegated shade of reds - and knit up very nicely. Since I used a fingering weight yarn when the pattern called for DK - I knit many more repeats than called for in the pattern. I came to a point where I thought I was going to run out of yarn and ended the border two rows short - but it was easy to do that with this pattern. I finished it up about 9:45 pm and proceeded to soak and block immediately before heading to bed.
Pictures to follow.
