Pick Up Sticks

Observations on a Thursday Morning

*I don't mind getting up early - 5:00 is fine with me - if I can get my walk in and then find time for a little knitting and computer time before work

**The dog decided to roll around in a pile of clean towels...he has a thing for terrycloth.

***After getting yelled at for upsetting the basket of clean towels the dog then proceeded to dig a cave in a pile of pillows and refuse to leave our bedroom as I was trying to leave for work.  I usually close our bedroom door before I leave.  He was not happy to be picked up and carried downstairs.  Teeth were bared...his not mine.

****I now have dog hair on my black top...ugh!  Frantically looking for lintbrush.

*****Eating cereal out of a cup while driving can be dangerous...there was no milk involved.

******Downtown Harrisburg smelled like pizza - at 7:15 am.

*******There was a trail of french fries leading down the steps of my parking garage.

********The knitting in my purse is calling my name...is it lunchtime yet?

Fun Weekend

Can you believe it is August already?!?!

We had a lovely weekend.  Jess - our youngest son's girlfriend - spent the weekend...she is just too sweet!  She kept our son occupied since he is miserable with a bad case of poison from his golf course job...between this and the eye injury he has had a rough summer with this job.

Saturday my brother-in-law and his wife came...we had a trip to Nissley Vineyards for Music in the Vineyards.  We love to go to this...they have it every weekend in the summer.  Friends were meeting us there so we packed up our picnics and headed off...a little leary of the weather.  It was so humid and thunderstorms were popping up here and there.  We paid, went in, set up our tables, met up with another couple and had just opened or first bottle of wine when the sky opened up and we had a torrential downpour for about 15 minutes.  Now you have to realize there was hundreds of people in the field waiting for he band to start...most of us without umbrellas.  We got soaked!  But we persevered with all the others and slicked back our hair...or in my case borrowed a baseball cap..and sipped our wine and danced the night away...hardly anyone left from the crowd...more showed up after the storm.  It was a fabulous warm night so being damp - ok some of us were drenched - made the evening enjoyable.  And boy did we dance!  The band - Silver Hawks - was wonderful and played old 70's and 80's music.  My favorite of the night being 'Would you Lie to Me" by the Eurythmics.  I've been singing it all day. 

Sunday has been a lazy kind of day...II made pancakes this morning fo rthe kids...my BIL and SIl headed off to the Hershey Hotel for their ritzy brunch to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.  I only left the house to pick a prescription for my son...and spent the rest of the day knitting and watching TV in the sunroom where there is a great breeze.  Not a very productive day...but very relaxing.

The thought of having to head back to work tomorrow makes me ill...I so love being home...I'm tired of working!

Oh well...watching Storytellers...the Eurythmics are on and maybe they'll sing my song!
