I rarely am up to date on the newest movies. I don't like to go to the movies - and would rather watch them at home on demand in my pj's with my own snacks - preferably a glass of wine - curled on my down filled couch with my hubby. With that said we still don't watch very many movies. I think it is because we just don't see eye to eye on movie selection. He likes action or sci-fi...not my favorite.
Yesterday - after days of watching college basketball - I was ready for a change. Plopped myself down and surfed until I saw that Cold Mountain was coming on. I loved this movie! Hubby watched with me - sort of - while he browsed the internet on the laptop and made too much noise making lunch and paying bills. I wasn't thrilled with the war gore of the movie but the dialogue of Nicole Kidman (Ada) reading the letters she wrote to Jude Law (Inman) was wonderful. And if their kiss before he left for war wasn't the sexiest kiss in movies I don't know what is. Sigh.....
And in the movie Ada wore a blue knitted shawl in several scenes that I would love to see the detail. If only I had chosen to watch this when it was on demand - with no commercials...the movie took 3 hours with long commercial breaks...ugh! But none the less I enjoyed it - even if it was long and the ending was sad. And I was seeing it 6 years after it's release...better late than never.
