Yesterday was the beginning of a new phase of our lives. We took our youngest son to college. We had been through this before - our oldest graduated from PSU-Behrend last year. But this is so different - we no longer have a child under our roof on a regular basis. It was so quiet in our house last night. And I spent the evening wondering - what did he eat for dinner, what is he doing now? I know he will be fine...he's a great young man with a good head on his shoulders. His first night was spent having a a team dinner with the soccer team - as he is trying out for the team this week. and he probably spent the evening setting up his computer and all the electronics he took along.
Now hubby and I have to settle into a new routine....cooking dinner for two, less laundry. I'm planning on using this new found time to spend some time on myself. As parents we so often lose ourselves as we concentrate on raising our kids. - I know I have. I've gained weight and never exercise. I want that to change...to take time for me...learn some new things - like quilting - and work harder on the things I LOVE to do - like decorating, knitting and beading.
I've started a list of things I want to accomplish - like paint the kitchen(I have the paint!), knit a sweater, make some cool necklaces, organize my house, CLEAN my son's room!
