Posting yesterday's "A New Beginning" post was extremely hard because I opened up about some things I have never said out loud before. It makes you feel vulnerable.
But I really am keeping this journal for me - no one else. If people find their way here - great. If not it will be a record of my journey.
One of the goals I listed in the last post was to find a personal trainer. I've been thinking about this quite a bit over the past year. I know when I went to physical therapy for my knees I was really committed because I had accountability. And it worked out for me.
Now that I have gained back some weight my knees are bothering me again. It may be because I stopped the exercises or the extra pressure due to weight gain or maybe just that the shots have finally worn off and I am due for more.
But I believe that by beginning to work out and losing weight it will definitely help my knees.
I did some research on personal trainers that were local and talked to a few. I settled on a company owned by a young man and a 50ish woman. He has owned this business for 15 years and has a great reputation. Last year they opened a second that is geared for people 50+. It is a small studio setting and there is never more than 3 or clients there at once. I went for my first session last Thursday. I am set up for two sessions a week and plan on filling in with yoga twice a week at home.
The next change - starting a Whole 30. More to come
